Calder Reservoir in Uintah County, Utah provides limited access for paddlers and small, non-motorized boats. The boat ramp is currently closed for motorized launching due to low water levels, so this location is best suited for kayaks, canoes, and small inflatables.
Access to the reservoir is via a 15-mile dirt road north from U.S. 40 near Fruitland, with no facilities available on-site. Pedestrian access is possible from nearby U-87, but the road to the boat ramp itself is unpaved. Fishing for rainbow and cutthroat trout is popular when the reservoir is open, but be aware that it may be closed during the winter months. Use caution when launching and navigate the reservoir at your own risk, as conditions can be muddy, especially in the spring and early summer.
