**Facility Overview**
Calkins Park provides year-round day-use access to Foster Reservoir via a two-lane boat ramp, with 39 truck-and-trailer parking spaces and 10 additional vehicle parking slips. There are no day-use fees. The park features picnic areas and riverside trails, making it a convenient launch point for boaters, kayakers, and canoeists.
**Paddling Opportunities**
This access point is particularly popular with kayakers exploring the scenic South Santiam River channel as it enters Foster Reservoir. Paddlers can head upriver from the ramp to enjoy calm water conditions and beautiful Willamette Valley scenery. The site is well-suited for recreational paddling and provides good access to the broader reservoir for boating adventures. Water levels fluctuate seasonally, so check current conditions before launching.
**Note:** Verify access status before visiting, as the park has experienced seasonal closures. For current conditions and information, contact the managing agency at 800-810-1000.
