Cameron Park East (South)

Cameron Park East (South) provides convenient public access to the Brazos River in Waco via boat ramp and dock facilities. The site is easily accessible from I-35 by heading west on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, then turning left onto Lake Shore Drive, College Drive, and Cameron Drive—the ramp and dock are located approximately 0.2 miles on your left. Ample parking is available at this location.

This access point works well for kayakers and canoeists looking to paddle the Brazos River, with good fishing opportunities in deeper pools upstream of FM 979. The river corridor in this area features scenic limestone cliffs and natural views typical of the Brazos through the Waco area. For additional facilities and amenities, nearby Brazos Park East offers pavilions, hiking trails, restrooms, and disc golf along the river.

Airport Park has 46 sites with 50-amp electric and water hookups, and 22 of these also have sewer hookups. There are 8 screen shelters with electrical outlets and water. Fourteen tent-only campsites without electric are also available.

A group camping shelter is available for reservation, and comes with electric, sewer and water hookups. It is equipped with a six-foot grill, 12-foot serving bar, and pavillion with picnic tables. There are eight campsites with electric and water hookups, and six of these have sewer hookups. The group camping area fits about 80 guests.
Natural Features
Airport Park is on the northern banks of Waco Lake, near the dam. The lake is primarily fed by the Bosque River, which runs for 115 miles through central Texas.
