Camp Joy

Camp Joy provides public water access to Lake Bistineau on the western shore near Haughton in Bossier Parish. This ramp is particularly valuable during the lake's seasonal drawdown periods, as it remains one of the few public launch areas accessible when water levels drop. The facility includes a boat ramp and loading dock, with plans for expansion to accommodate increased use during peak recreational seasons (summer and fall).

Lake Bistineau offers a scenic mix of open water, cypress and tupelo stands, and mixed hardwood forests along its shoreline. The lake supports active fishing and paddling communities. Paddlers and boaters should note that water levels fluctuate seasonally, which may affect launch conditions. Before visiting, check current water levels and confirm facility conditions, as the ramp may experience changes during drawdown maintenance or expansion work.
