Can Lake is a 12-acre lake located in the Peabody Wildlife Management Area near Browder in Muhlenberg County. A public boat ramp provides access for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats. **Note:** A user permit ($15.00) is required to enter the area and can be purchased at any location that sells Kentucky hunting and fishing licenses.
**Practical Information:** Parking is limited to designated areas and maintained roads—do not block gates or access roads. The surrounding wildlife management area features scenic wetlands and sloughs that attract waterfowl and bald eagles. If visiting during hunting season, be aware that hunters must maintain a 100-yard distance from the boat ramp, but it's worth checking current hunting schedules before your visit. The area is also known for white bass runs on the nearby Pond River around early April, which downstream access points may offer additional paddling opportunities.
