Canal Park offers convenient access to Portage Creek and the Intracoastal Waterway system near Gulf Shores. Located at 200 East 24th Avenue under the Highway 59 Bridge, this facility features a single paved boat ramp, a courtesy dock, and adequate parking with approximately 34 spaces. Restroom facilities are available on-site, and the ramp is lit for extended-hour use.
This is an excellent launch point for kayakers and canoeists exploring the calm canal waters and nearby estuarine systems. The location provides easy access to the greater Gulf Shores waterway network, including nearby paddling opportunities through Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge and Weeks Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve—both outstanding destinations for wildlife viewing and scenic paddling.
