Carbury Dam

Carbury Dam, located near Carbury in Bottineau County, offers a well-developed public boat ramp for paddlers and boaters accessing this multi-purpose reservoir. The dam creates a permanent pool with depths reaching 45 feet, making it suitable for various watercraft including kayaks and canoes. The ramp provides convenient water access for both day trips and extended outings.

The site features excellent supporting amenities, including 28 camping sites with electric hookups, an RV dump station, vault toilets, picnic shelters, and swimming areas. Fishing docks and additional facilities make this a full-service recreation destination. Note that only approximately 30 percent of the shoreline is publicly owned, so be aware of access boundaries while paddling. The area also supports hiking and wildlife viewing opportunities alongside water-based activities.

**Location:** 4 miles west and 4 miles north of Bottineau, or 1 mile south and 1 mile west of Carbury. The site is wheelchair accessible with ADA-compliant parking, restrooms, and seating available.
