Carlson's Landing - 1

Located on the Withlacoochee River near Lake Panasoffkee in Sumter County, Carlson's Landing provides convenient public access to a scenic paddling corridor. This boat ramp serves as an ideal launch point for paddlers and boaters heading either south toward Arrowhead or north toward Dunnellon and the river's scenic "backwaters." The site is part of the Withlacoochee River's designated paddling trail system managed by the Suwannee River Water Management District.

Before launching, paddlers should be aware that water levels significantly impact navigability on this section of river. When water levels fall below 54 feet, numerous shoals may become too shallow to paddle through. It's recommended to scout shoals ahead of time or check current conditions before committing to your paddle. This is a popular access point for both recreational kayakers and canoeists exploring Florida's natural river system.
