About This Access Site
Carlson's Landing provides convenient access to the Withlacoochee River near Lake Panasoffkee in Sumter County. This ramp serves as a key midpoint access for paddlers and boaters exploring the middle section of the river, offering routes south toward Arrowhead and north toward Dunnellon and the river's scenic backwaters. The location is situated near the CR 575 Bridge at the Withlacoochee RV Resort area.

Paddlers should be aware that water levels significantly impact navigability on the Withlacoochee. When water levels drop below 54 feet, many shoals become too shallow to paddle through safely. Scout shoal areas before committing to your route if conditions are questionable. The site is well-positioned for day trips or longer expeditions along the designated paddling trail, whether you're heading upstream or downstream.
