About This Access Site
The Casper Water Ski Club provides boat ramp access to Alcova Reservoir, a 2,470-acre impoundment on the North Platte River located approximately 30 miles southwest of Casper. This is one of eight public boat ramps available around the reservoir, making it a convenient launch point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats. The site is well-suited for paddlers looking to explore the reservoir's calm waters or access Fremont Canyon from the southwest end.

On-site amenities include access to Alcova Resort's full-service marina, which offers equipment rentals (kayaks, canoes, stand-up paddleboards), a fuel dock, restaurant, and convenience store. Additional facilities around the reservoir include six campgrounds, a dump station, and water fill stations. Pete's Draw Campground is located within 10 miles for overnight accommodations. The area also provides opportunities to explore the nearby North Platte River, a popular regional fishery, and the Pathfinder National Wildlife Refuge.

Plan your visit during peak season (mid-May through late September), when Alcova Resort and facilities are fully operational. Check current conditions and water levels before paddling, as reservoir conditions can vary seasonally. This location is ideal for recreational paddlers seeking protected water access in central Wyoming.
