About This Access Site
The Casper Water Ski Club provides access to Alcova Reservoir, a 2,470-acre impoundment on the North Platte River located about 30 miles northwest of Casper. This is one of eight boat ramps available around the reservoir, making it a reliable launch point for kayakers, canoeists, and recreational boaters. The site is managed by the water ski club, which promotes water safety and water sports activities on the lake.

Alcova Resort operates an onsite marina with rental options for kayaks, canoes, stand-up paddleboards, and motorboats, along with a fuel dock and boating supplies. The resort includes a restaurant, convenience store, and RV hookups. From the southwest end of Alcova Reservoir, paddlers can access scenic Fremont Canyon on the North Platte River. For overnight stays, Pete's Draw Campground is located within 10 miles, and the broader Alcova area offers six campgrounds plus a full hook-up facility.

The Pathfinder National Wildlife Refuge and the North Platte River ecosystem provide additional recreational opportunities in the region. Contact Alcova Resort directly for current hours of operation, rental rates, and seasonal availability, as the facility typically operates mid-May through late September.
