Cave Bay

Located 7 miles south of Coeur d'Alene on the sparkling waters of Coeur d'Alene Lake, Mica Bay Boater Park is a unique boat-in-only facility with no vehicle access. This makes it an excellent destination for kayakers, canoeists, and boaters seeking a backcountry camping experience. The site features 16 tent camping units, two mooring docks, a swimming beach, and vault toilets with drinking water available. Camping and mooring dock sites are $20/night on a first-come, first-served, self-pay basis.

The facility includes amenities such as picnic areas, a group picnic shelter ($80 reservation), and playground equipment, making it suitable for both day trips and overnight adventures. To access the site from Coeur d'Alene, take Highway 95 south for 8 miles, then follow local directions for boat launch access. While there is no road access to the campground itself, a short walk on a gated service road is available for visitors. With its beautiful lake setting and boat-accessible location, Mica Bay offers paddlers and boaters a scenic retreat on one of the region's most renowned waterways.
