Cave Lake State Park offers a developed boat ramp and dock facility for launching kayaks, canoes, and motorized boats on this 32-acre high-elevation reservoir located 15 miles southeast of Ely, Nevada via U.S. 50/6/93 and Success Summit Road. The lake maintains a 5 mph speed limit (flat wake only), making it ideal for paddlers and anglers seeking a calm water experience. The park sits at a scenic mountain setting with jagged rock formations and excellent views of the surrounding Great Basin landscape.
The lake is well-stocked with rainbow trout and supports wild brown trout populations, making it popular for both boaters and shore-based anglers. A fish cleaning station is available on-site. The park provides comprehensive facilities including picnic areas, improved restroom and shower facilities, a hiking trail system, and 34 nearby campsites at Cleve Creek Campground and within the park itself. Cave Lake is open year-round and offers winter ice-fishing opportunities when conditions permit.
