Cayuga Lake State Park provides a convenient boat launch and access point for kayakers, canoeists, and small motorized boats on the Cayuga-Seneca Canal, which connects to Cayuga Lake. The concrete boat ramp can accommodate up to 16 vehicles with trailers. A floating dock is available for loading and unloading gear.
The park is located in Seneca Falls, New York, near the head of Cayuga Lake. Boaters can access the lake and connect to the larger Finger Lakes waterway system. The canal itself is generally calm and slow-moving, making it well-suited for paddlers. However, Cayuga Lake can experience periods of choppy conditions, so caution is advised, especially for less experienced boaters.
Nearby recreation areas like the Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge and Women's Rights National Historical Park offer additional opportunities for exploration by water or on land. Visitors should be aware that the boat launch at Cayuga Lake State Park will be temporarily inaccessible starting December 16th, so plan accordingly.
