About This Access Site
Cedar Lake offers a public boat ramp and launch facility located at the end of Boat Dock Road in Carbondale, Jackson County. The ramp provides parking and is equipped with a handicap-accessible kayak launch, making it convenient for paddlers of all abilities. A 10-horsepower motor limit applies to the lake, creating a relatively quiet environment suitable for kayaking and canoeing.

The site includes amenities such as a kayak rental vending machine available in the parking area (accessed via mobile app), so paddlers without their own equipment have options for getting on the water. Note that there is no on-site marina or services. The lake's proximity to the Clear Springs Wilderness area—which features scenic views of the Mississippi River Valley with elevations ranging from 400 to over 900 feet—makes this a good launch point for exploring the region's natural landscape.
