Cedar Log Landing is a single-lane concrete boat ramp located on a short slough just west of the Choctawhatchee River in Walton County, Florida (Mile 34). The ramp provides access to one of Northwest Florida's major river systems and is situated on the west side of the river. To reach the landing, turn off CR 181C onto Coon Bottom Road (which becomes Berrian Lake Road), then head east on Landing Road.
The Choctawhatchee River is a substantial waterway with a drainage area of 4,527 square miles and an average flow of approximately 7,755 cubic feet per second. At this location, paddlers can expect moderate current conditions with an average velocity of 2.82 feet per second and a gentle gradient of 1.1 feet per mile. The river's classification as a major stream (Stream Order 8) indicates consistent water volume, making it suitable for kayaking, canoeing, and motorized boating. As the river flows 143 miles to the Gulf of Mexico, downstream paddling opportunities are extensive for those looking for longer expeditions.
