Cedar Meadow is a day-use-only state fishing access on the Blackfoot River near Helmville in Powell County. This is a **walk-in access point only with difficult river access**—there is no boat ramp at this location. The site provides access to a scenic 18-mile section of the Blackfoot River between Mineral Hill and Cedar Meadows, which features relatively slow current and is well-suited for canoes and kayaks. This stretch is popular with paddlers because extensive sections lack road access, making floating the best way to experience the river.
From Cedar Meadow, paddlers can expect a twisting, scenic 12-mile float downstream to River Junction fishing access. The river's moderate current and character make it ideal for canoe and kayak paddlers rather than motorized craft. The surrounding area offers additional recreation opportunities, including the nearby Garnet Recreation Management Area and its extensive trail system. Note that weapons discharge is prohibited year-round, and no fees are charged for day-use access.
