Chapany Park

**Facility Overview**
Chapany Park offers a well-maintained paved boat ramp with concrete parking lot, located in Colfax where the Red Cedar River flows into Tainter Lake. The ramp is approximately 50 feet wide and can accommodate two boats launching simultaneously, making it suitable for kayaks, canoes, and motorized boats.

**Access and Location**
This is a publicly-owned DNR access site positioned at a scenic transition point—about 1.4 miles downstream from Russian Slough, where the river expands through a large delta system before emptying into Tainter Lake. The location provides good access to both the lower river section and the open water of the lake, making it an excellent launching point for paddlers exploring either environment.
