About This Access Site
Charleston Park offers convenient boat access to Lake Lanier, a popular reservoir on the Chattahoochee River in northern Georgia. The site features a boat ramp that can accommodate a variety of watercraft, from kayaks and canoes to small motorized boats.

The Chattahoochee River upstream of the lake is known for its scenic shoals and rapids, making it a popular destination for whitewater enthusiasts. Downstream from Charleston Park, the river widens into the calm, expansive waters of Lake Lanier. This 38,000-acre reservoir is one of America's most visited lakes, offering excellent opportunities for swimming, fishing, and recreational boating.

While Charleston Park does not have its own campground, there are several nearby recreation areas operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, including West Bank Park just north of Buford Dam. Visitors should check the Recreation.gov website or contact the local parks department for the latest information on hours, fees, and amenities at the Charleston Park boat ramp.
