The Charlevoix Street ramp in Marquette provides public access to Lake Puckaway, a 5,000-acre shallow lake in central Wisconsin. The ramp is approximately 16 feet wide and accommodates small to medium-sized boats. Access is available via street parking and a parking lot. **Note:** A seasonal permit is required to use this ramp (April–October): $20 for Wisconsin residents, $40 for non-residents, and $5 for seniors. Permits can be purchased at the local police department.
Lake Puckaway offers opportunities for paddling and boating in a scenic wetland setting. The nearby Fox River National Wildlife Refuge (1,054 acres) provides excellent habitat for wildlife viewing and paddling exploration. This access point is one of seven public launches available on Puckaway Lake, making it a convenient option for both day trips and longer paddling adventures in the area.
