Cherry Creek State Park offers convenient boat access to Cherry Creek Reservoir, a popular recreation destination near Denver, Colorado. The park features two boat ramps, though the west ramp is currently the only one open due to low water levels affecting access.
Paddlers and non-motorized boaters have the option to hand-launch their kayaks, canoes, and paddleboards without using the boat ramp. This can be a good option for those looking to explore the reservoir without the need for trailering a larger boat. The park does provide life jackets on a first-come, first-served basis.
Visitors to Cherry Creek State Park are required to pay a $3 Cherry Creek Basic Water Quality Authority fee, which is not included with the new Colorado Parks and Wildlife pass. The park's visitor center, located in the campground area, is open Monday through Friday from 9am to 6pm and can provide additional information to help plan your visit.
