About This Access Site
Cheshire Lake offers a convenient car-top boat launch located on Route 8 across from a Honda dealership on the causeway. The site features parking on the far side of the dam with direct access to a paved boat ramp and a dock at the water's entrance, making it suitable for kayaks, canoes, and other small watercraft. No town resident sticker is required to use this public access point.

The ramp is straightforward and easy to navigate, with a flat paved surface leading directly into the water. Paddlers should note that there are no specialized accessibility aids beyond the standard ramp. This is an ideal launching point for exploring Cheshire Lake and a good base for day trips on the water. The area also offers nearby hiking opportunities, with additional trails at Basin Pond marked by DCR signage just down the road.
