The Chilkat Inlet boat ramp provides excellent access to explore the scenic Pacific Ocean waters near Haines, Alaska. This ramp is located in the Chilkat State Park and offers a convenient launching point for kayaks, canoes, and small powerboats.
The inlet itself is part of the larger Lynn Canal, a deep fjord that's home to abundant wildlife like seals, porpoises, and river otters. The boat launch makes it easy to get on the water to view the stunning glaciers, including the nearby Rainbow Glacier, as well as watch for marine life. Anglers will also appreciate the boat ramp's proximity to the king salmon runs that occur in early summer.
Campsites are available a short walk from the boat launch, allowing paddlers and boaters to extend their time on the water. The Chilkat State Park's log cabin information center also offers wildlife spotting scopes to help visitors make the most of their time exploring this beautiful inlet.
