About This Access Site
Located on Route 405 just 4 miles north of Northumberland in Milton, the Chillisquaque boat ramp provides public access to the West Branch Susquehanna River at river mile 5.8. This Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC) facility offers a convenient launch point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats looking to explore this section of the river.

The ramp provides access to the 652-acre Hepburn Street Dam pool, which offers deeper, calmer water ideal for various paddling abilities and water activities. The West Branch Susquehanna in this area is characterized by slower-moving water behind the dam, making it suitable for recreational paddling and boating. This access point corresponds with Sections 15 & 16 of the Susquehanna River Water Trail, and paddlers are encouraged to consult the waterproof Susquehanna River Water Trail Map & Guide for detailed information about additional amenities, river conditions, and navigation points in this region.
