Located along the Ohio River near Chilo in Clermont County, this county-managed access site provides a convenient boat launch for paddlers and boaters exploring the Meldahl Pool section of the Ohio River. The park features a single-lane boat ramp with a small courtesy dock and ample free parking. Amenities include restrooms with running water and picnic shelter areas, making it a good spot to launch, take a break, or explore the surrounding preserve area.
The site is situated near Captain Anthony Meldahl Locks & Dam (mile marker 436), which creates a 95-mile navigational pool—ideal for recreational boating and paddling. The Ohio River at this location is a large, slow-moving waterway suitable for various watercraft. To reach the park from New Richmond, drive 15.5 miles southeast on OH-52; the entrance is on the right (east side) at Chilo. **Note: Do not block access to the boat ramp.** The park closes at dusk and is part of Clermont County's only state-dedicated nature preserve, offering paddlers both water access and scenic shoreline exploration opportunities.
