About This Access Site
**Location & Access:** Cliff City is a popular public boat ramp located on the eastern side of the lower Chester River in Chestertown, MD. The ramp is situated at the confluence of the Chester River and Chesapeake Bay, making it an excellent launching point for both river exploration and bay access. To reach the ramp, head to the intersection of Lands End Road and Cliff City Road, then travel 1.1 miles south on Cliff City Road.

**What to Expect:** This is one of the premier public ramps on the Queen Anne's County side of the lower Chester River and experiences heavy traffic, particularly during summer months. The site is well-suited for kayakers, canoeists, and motorized vessels. The historic location sits near Kent Fort, Maryland's oldest English settlement established in 1631, adding cultural significance to your visit.
