About This Access Site
The Columbia boat ramp provides convenient access to the Scuppernong River, a scenic waterway in northeastern North Carolina. This well-maintained ramp features a concrete launching lane, courtesy docks, and ample parking for around 15 boat trailers.

Once you've launched, the canal leading to the open waters of the Scuppernong River is approximately 2,000 feet long. The river itself is wide and slow-moving, making it well-suited for kayaking, canoeing, and small motorized boats. Paddlers can explore the river's winding channels and encounter diverse wetland habitats, including the nearby Pocosin Lakes National Wildlife Refuge.

Access to the Columbia boat ramp is straightforward, with clear signage directing visitors from major roads like US 64. Whether you're launching a kayak or trailering a small boat, this site provides a convenient entry point to discover the natural beauty of the Scuppernong River.
