About This Access Site
Columbia Park offers a public boat ramp providing access to Lake Wallula on the Columbia River near Kennewick. Located conveniently near the US-395 Bridge, this Army Corps of Engineers facility serves as a launching point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats accessing the lower Columbia River. The site is non-reservable and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Lake Wallula is a large, slow-moving reservoir created by McNary Dam, making it well-suited for paddlers of varying skill levels. The flat water conditions and gentle currents are ideal for kayaking and canoeing compared to more dynamic sections of the Columbia River. The area also provides good opportunities to explore nearby recreation including Lake Sacajawea and McNary National Wildlife Refuge, popular for both paddling and wildlife viewing.

The park is located in the heart of Kennewick, providing easy road access and nearby amenities. Paddlers should note that a separate fishing pond adjacent to the ramp is restricted to juveniles 14 and under and disability license holders. Plan accordingly for parking and facility conditions typical of public Army Corps access points.
