About This Access Site
Columbia Point is a public boat launch facility located in Richland on Lake Wallula, the impounded section of the Columbia River between McNary Dam and Priest Rapids Dam. The site offers good accessibility for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats, with paved walkways, parking, docks, and ADA-accessible restrooms. From I-82 or I-182, take the George Washington Way exit north to Columbia Point Drive, then turn right to reach the launch area.

Lake Wallula provides a large, relatively calm water body suitable for paddlers of varying skill levels, though conditions can vary with dam releases and weather. The lake extends upstream to multiple dams and supports notable salmon and steelhead fisheries; however, these fisheries may be subject to seasonal closures or emergency regulation changes, so check current Washington and Oregon fishing regulations before your trip. The site is part of Columbia Park and offers a convenient launching point for exploring this section of the Columbia River.
