**Access & Facilities**
Conant Valley is a BLM-managed access point located in Swan Valley, providing a concrete boat ramp and separate raft launch facilities. The site includes restrooms, picnic areas, and a dump station. Note that the raft launch area features swift water with some deteriorated steps—use caution when launching. Motorized boats require valid registration. No reservations are available through Recreation.gov; contact the BLM Upper Snake Field Office (208-524-7500) for season passes and site details.
**Water Conditions & Navigation**
This access point puts boaters on the upper Snake River near the Palisades Reservoir area. The Snake is a major river with significant flow (averaging nearly 50,000 cubic feet per second) and a steep gradient of 15.8 feet per mile—expect swift currents and substantial water movement. Paddlers and boaters should be experienced and prepared for cold water conditions typical of mountain rivers at this elevation. The river flows through high mountain valleys with both open areas and rugged canyon sections.
**Getting There**
From Idaho Falls, take Swan Valley Highway north, turn north on 175 E, then east on 143 N to reach the site. Falls Campground (reservable) is located within 10 miles for overnight stays.
