The Confederate access site provides a concrete boat ramp on Canyon Ferry Reservoir near Noble, Montana. This 33,500-acre reservoir offers excellent conditions for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters, with 96 miles of shoreline to explore. The site gives you access to a large, relatively calm impoundment created by Canyon Ferry Dam, making it suitable for paddlers of varying skill levels seeking a scenic recreational experience.
This area is well-developed for water recreation, with multiple amenities available along the reservoir. The nearby White Earth Campground (reservable) is within 10 miles if you're planning an overnight trip. Note that if you intend to continue downstream past Canyon Ferry Dam toward Cascade, you'll need to arrange a vehicle portage around the dam—there is no water portage option. Between the dam and Cascade, there are 13 state access sites, 11 boat ramps, and several camping areas, providing good take-out options for longer paddling trips.
The reservoir supports excellent fishing for rainbow trout, perch, ling, and walleye, and the surrounding upland areas offer wildlife viewing opportunities including pronghorn antelope and various bird species.
