Coon Fork Lake County Park in Augusta offers public boat access to a 62-acre lake ideal for kayakers, canoeists, and recreational boaters. The park features a public boat landing with good facilities, including a playground, picnic areas, and both flush and pit toilets. Kayak and canoe rentals are available on-site, making this an accessible option for those without their own equipment. The lake has a maximum depth of 20 feet and is home to musky, panfish, and largemouth bass.
Full facilities operate seasonally from May 1 through September 15. Beyond paddling, the park offers camping with some electric and water hookups, nature trails, mountain bike trails, cross-country skiing access, and a swimming beach. Dogs are welcome. Note that while there's a public park on one side of the lake, a separate campground with its own beach occupies the opposite shore. This is a solid option for a day paddle or a longer camping and paddling trip in Eau Claire County.
