Cooper Landing

The Cooper Landing boat ramp provides excellent access to the Kenai River, a large and scenic Alaskan waterway. Located at river mile 82, the launch site is situated at the outlet of Kenai Lake along the Sterling Highway (milepost 48.4). The Kenai River is a major Class I-II river, with an average flow of over 1,000 cubic feet per second and a total drop of 410 feet over its 97-mile length.

The boat ramp is part of the Cooper Creek South Campground, a Federal recreation area with reservable campsites. While the campground itself is not ADA-accessible, the boat launch and surrounding areas do have some accessibility features, including a boardwalk with a maximum 5% gradient. A $5 parking fee may apply, so be prepared with cash or change.
