The Corpus Christi KOA Journey offers a dedicated boat ramp for guests with watercraft, providing convenient access to Corpus Christi Bay and Padre Island Seashore. Located on North Padre Island near the JFK Causeway, this facility includes two wet slips and five boat lift slips in addition to the ramp, making it suitable for kayakers, canoeists, and small motorboats. The site is accessible by heading east through Corpus Christi on Highway 358, then crossing onto Padre Island.
From this launch point, paddlers and boaters can explore Packery Channel, which connects the Gulf of Mexico to Corpus Christi Bay. This scenic route features calm, narrow waters ideal for kayaks and small craft, offering access to Mustang Island and the Padre Island National Seashore. The Intracoastal Waterway (ICW) is also nearby, providing additional paddling opportunities. Note that ramp access is primarily available to KOA camping guests with boats.
