About This Access Site
The Cotile Lake North access point is located at Valentine Lake Recreation Area, an 85-acre park situated about 20 miles northeast of Alexandria near Boyce, Louisiana. The facility features a wide, well-maintained asphalt boat ramp suitable for launching kayaks, canoes, and motorboats. A pier extends into the lake near the ramp, providing additional access options. The recreation area is accessible via asphalt roads and offers amenities including two sandy swimming beaches, picnic areas, and a playground.

Camping is available on-site on a first-come, first-served basis—no advance reservations are accepted. Visitors must arrive in person to claim a campsite, with the option to pay via QR code through the Recreation.gov mobile app's Scan and Pay feature. The area provides year-round facilities and drinking water. For day-use paddlers and boaters, Cotile Lake offers a scenic setting with multiple access points around the lake, making it suitable for various water activities.
