Cotton Lake is a 1,763-acre lake in scenic Becker County near Rochert, Minnesota, offering a public boat ramp for easy water access. With a maximum depth of 28 feet, the lake supports various paddling and boating activities. The access site includes a day-use area with amenities such as picnic tables, grills, and a portable toilet, making it convenient for a full day on the water.
The Cotton Lake Recreation Area features seven campsites available by reservation, with sites 1-4 accommodating RVs and trailers while sites 5-7 are tent-only. Each site can hold up to 8 people and 2 vehicles, making it an excellent base for multi-day paddling trips. There are no launch fees at this access point, and the facility is well-suited for kayaks, canoes, and recreational boats. The nearby Detroit Lakes Wetland Management District and Hamden Slough National Wildlife Refuge offer additional paddling and wildlife viewing opportunities in the region.
