**Location & Launch Facilities**
Cottonmill is a modern boat ramp facility located in Kearney on Cottonmill Lake, a 43-acre impoundment on the Platte River. The access point features a concrete boat ramp suitable for launching motorboats, kayaks, and canoes. The recreation area is well-developed with day-use facilities including restrooms, drinking fountains, picnic areas, and multiple shelters available.

**Paddling & Recreation**
This is primarily a lake-based paddling destination rather than a river float. Cottonmill Lake maintains a no-wake policy for boating, making it ideal for paddlers seeking calm water conditions. The lake is stocked with largemouth bass, bluegill, crappie, channel catfish, and northern pike, so expect fishing activity. Additional amenities on-site include nature trails, a marina with seasonal services, disc golf, and a playground. The recreation area offers seven campsites available by reservation (sites 1-4 accommodate RVs and trailers, while sites 5-7 are tent-only).
