Cottonwood-Steverson Wildlife Management Area

Located north of Hyannis in Cherry County, this access site provides a concrete, ADA-compliant boat ramp for launching onto the Headwaters Betsy Creek. The facility maintains a primitive character with basic public amenities including parking and the boat ramp—no dock is available. This access point is ideal for paddlers and boaters looking to explore the headwaters region with minimal development.

The site is situated within a 4.56 square-mile wildlife management area open to public recreation. While the area is managed primarily for wildlife habitat, it offers opportunities for kayaking and canoeing on the creek system. Visitors should be prepared for a rustic experience and plan accordingly, as services are limited to the ramp and parking facilities.
