**Location & Access**
County Road 88 provides public boat access to Burntside Lake, located northwest of Ely in St. Louis County. From Highway 1 west of Ely, follow County Road 88 north for approximately 2.3 miles to County Road 404. This is one of five public accesses on the lake.

Burntside Lake is a substantial 7,314-acre lake with clear water and a maximum depth of 126 feet, making it suitable for various water activities including kayaking, canoeing, and motorboating. The lake offers portage and water route connections to nearby lakes, providing options for multi-lake paddling trips. This access point is less heavily trafficked than the popular Van Vac Road and Burntside Lodge ramps on the south shore.
