Crab Lake

Crab Lake is a 909-acre lake in Vilas County near Presque Isle with a public boat ramp providing access for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats. The lake features a maximum depth of 60 feet and very clear water conditions, making it suitable for various paddling activities. A gravel ramp is available for launching, with parking for vehicles and trailers.

The lake supports a healthy fishery including musky, northern pike, walleye, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, and panfish, making it popular with anglers as well. Nearby camping options are available at Henry Lake Camp, Pomeroy Lake Camp, and Moosehead Lake Camp, all within 10 miles. Note that Henry Lake Camp operates on a first-come, first-served basis, so plan accordingly if you're looking to combine your paddling trip with overnight camping in the area.
