About This Access Site
Craigs Creek Boat Ramp provides access to Laurel River Lake and Sam Branch within Daniel Boone National Forest near Keavy in Laurel County. Located across the lake from Holly Bay Marina, this is one of several launch points for exploring the scenic 5,175-acre reservoir. The ramp is situated at the Craigs Creek Group Area facility, which offers nearby camping and group amenities for extended trips. Note that a launch fee is now required at this facility.

**Getting There:** From London, take Exit 38 off I-75, head west on KY 192 for 12.2 miles, then turn left onto Forest Road 62 and continue 2 miles to the site. For information or reservations at the group campground, contact 606-528-6156.

**What to Expect:** Paddlers will find a well-established access point for lake exploration and can take advantage of nearby camping and recreational facilities. The Sheltowee Trace National Recreation Trail passes through the area, offering additional hiking opportunities. Multiple other boat ramps around the lake (Holly Bay, Grove, Hightop, and Laurel Bridge) provide alternative access points if needed.

The hiking and biking trail at Craig's Creek is an easy, half-mile path that features several views of the lake.Picnicking, boating and fishing are popular pastimes for visitors. Fish species include crappie, catfish, and small and largemouth bass.A spacious sports field with a volleyball net and horseshoe pits lies near the picnic shelter.
Facilities
Group sites are for tent camping only and do not have electricity. The day-use picnic shelter fits 60 guests, and the group campsites fit up to 30 and 60 guests, depending on the location.

Each group camp area comes with a campfire circle, large grill, picnic tables and a lantern pole. Modern vault toilets and a shower house are available.Natural Features
The campground sits on Craig's Creek, which flows into an arm of Laurel River Lake across from Holly Bay Campground. The group site lies in a somewhat open space surrounded by woods.

Set in the Appalachian foothills, plenty of hills and valleys create a beautiful backdrop for the lake area.
