About This Access Site
**Location & Access:** Crane Prairie Campground provides boat ramp access to Crane Prairie Reservoir, a 4,940-acre water body located in the Cascade Mountains approximately 58 miles southwest of Bend via Cascade Lakes Highway. The campground features a paved boat ramp with a large parking lot, fish cleaning station, and permanent docks suitable for kayakers, canoeists, and motorized boats.

**Important Notes:** Please be aware that the campground itself is currently closed until further notice. However, the boat ramp and day-use facilities remain operational and require a recreation pass. Water levels fluctuate seasonally—recent reports indicate the reservoir was approximately 70% full with water levels roughly 8 feet below the ramp bottom, so check current conditions before launching. The site is managed by the U.S. Forest Service; for current information, contact 541-323-1746.

**Recreation Opportunities:** Crane Prairie Reservoir offers excellent fishing for rainbow trout, mountain whitefish, and brook trout managed by the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife. The 24 miles of shoreline provide scenic paddling opportunities in a mountain setting. Both motorized and non-motorized boats are permitted on the reservoir, making it accessible for various water activities.
