Crawfords Ferry

Crawfords Ferry Boat Ramp is a public access point on the Savannah River and Lake Hartwell in Hart County, Georgia. This launch site provides easy access to the lake for kayakers, canoeists, and small motorized boats.

The ramp is located at the Elrod Ferry Recreation Area, a 39-acre day-use facility operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Amenities include picnic sites, shelters, a courtesy dock, and restrooms. The recreation area can be reached by turning left onto Elrod Ferry Road from Highway 29 North, approximately 2.5 miles from Hartwell, Georgia.

Hartwell Lake is a popular Corps of Engineers reservoir known for its scenic shoreline and diverse recreational opportunities. Paddlers can explore the lake's coves and inlets or access the Savannah River, which flows into the lake. Hartwell Lake is a man-made lake bordering Georgia and South Carolina on the Savannah, Tugaloo and Seneca Rivers. The dam and lake area boasts 8 campgrounds and 11 day-use facilities that are operated by the US Army Corps of Engineers.
The Hartwell Project was originally authorized for hydro-power, flood control, and navigation. Later, recreation, water quality, water supply and fish and wildlife management were added.
Surrounding vegetation allows for plenty of shade, and the 962 miles of shoreline provide numerous swimming beaches, picnic areas and boat ramps.
