Cripp's Camp

Cripp's Camp offers a well-maintained boat launch on the west bank of Big Cypress Bayou at mid-lake Caddo near Karnack, Texas. The facility features a single concrete ramp with courtesy docks, a 30-vehicle parking area, restrooms, and cleaning stations. Handicap access is available, and gas is available on-site. The launch provides straightforward access to the bayou's calm waters—ideal for kayakers, canoeists, and recreational boaters exploring Caddo Lake's unique cypress and tupelo ecosystem.

To reach Cripp's Camp, take Texas 43 east from Marshall to FM 2198, continue east toward Uncertain, and follow local roads to the boathouse; the ramp is located at the end of the facility. The Big Cypress Bayou Paddling Trail system features reflective arrow markers on trees and posts to guide paddlers. Additional amenities in the area include picnic tables, nature trails, a fishing pier, and nearby campsites and cabins for overnight stays, making this an excellent base for multi-day paddling adventures on the bayou.
