About This Access Site
Located in O'Fallon, St. Charles County, the Cuivre Island Conservation Area boat ramp provides gravel launch access into Cuivre Slough and the Mississippi River. The mainland tract includes a dedicated parking lot and well-maintained ramp suitable for kayaks, canoes, and motorboats. This is a good put-in point for exploring the quieter waters of Cuivre Slough or accessing the main Mississippi River channel.

The conservation area itself spans three separate tracts totaling over 100 acres of forested land, offering a scenic natural setting for paddling. The site is easily accessible via Dalbow Road near Highway 79. Paddlers should note that this access point serves both non-motorized craft and motorized vessels, so expect mixed-use conditions. The surrounding Two Rivers National Wildlife Refuge area makes this a good launch point for exploring migratory bird habitat and backwater ecosystems along this section of the Mississippi River.
