The Curlew Lake Boat Ramp provides access to Dry Creek, a large river system (Stream Order 6) with a substantial drainage area of 446 square miles. Located adjacent to Curlew Creek Campground, this access point offers a boat ramp, dock, and two parking lots for boat trailers. The site also features restrooms, picnic tables, fire rings, and drinking water, making it a well-equipped launching location.
Be aware that Dry Creek is a headwater stream near its source with a steep average gradient of 104.2 feet per mile and significant elevation drop (2,989 feet total). With an average flow of 10.89 cubic feet per second and velocity of 1.67 feet per second, water conditions can vary seasonally. Paddlers and boaters should check current conditions before launching, as high-gradient headwater streams can present hazardous rapids and obstacles. The parking situation has been noted as limited, so arrive early during peak recreation periods.
