About This Access Site
Dam East is a concrete boat ramp access point located at the eastern end of Proctor Lake Dam in Comanche County, Texas. This site provides convenient access to the Leon River and Proctor Lake, offering paddlers and boaters a launching point for exploring the 4,500-acre reservoir. The concrete ramp and nearby parking make it suitable for canoes, kayaks, and motorized boats of various sizes.

This access is located approximately 8 miles northeast of Comanche, near the US 67 crossing below Proctor Dam. Paddlers should note that this is a dam-controlled reservoir with relatively calm water conditions, making it ideal for recreational kayakers and canoeists. The lake is situated in historic Comanche territory and offers a scenic setting for water recreation. Plan accordingly for dam release schedules if paddling in the river below the dam, as water levels can fluctuate.
