About This Access Site
**Location & Access:**
The Dam Site ramp is located on the east side of Lake Bridgeport near the dam in Wise County. From Bridgeport, take FM 1658 west for about 5 miles, follow the road's sharp bend to the south, cross the dam, then turn into the first drive. This is a free, year-round access point operated by the Tarrant Regional Water District.
**Facilities & Conditions:**
This single-lane ramp offers limited parking and accommodates all boat types, though access may be limited during low water periods. The ramp is best suited for motorboats, pontoons, and larger vessels. Kayakers and canoeists will find Lake Bridgeport itself ideal for paddling—the 11,954-acre lake features a rock bottom creating clear blue water, heavily wooded shorelines, and mostly undeveloped banks. The lake provides excellent conditions for recreational paddling, fishing, and boating throughout the year.
