About This Access Site
**Location & Access:** The Dam Site boat ramp is located mid-lake on the north side of Lake Alan Henry, at the north end of the dam. To reach it from US 84, take FM 2458 east for 4 miles, then continue on FM 3519 for 3 miles to Sam Wahl Recreation Area and the lake entrance.
**Facilities:** This is a modest one-lane concrete ramp with gravel parking. While smaller than some of the lake's other launch points, it provides direct water access for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats. The ramp is positioned at mid-lake, offering convenient access to the northern sections of the reservoir.
**What to Know:** Lake Alan Henry features 56 miles of shoreline with variable conditions—some banks are steep, so exercise caution when exploring. The lake supports good fishing and paddling opportunities. This ramp location works well for those launching to explore the dam area and northern reaches of the lake. For larger groups or trailers requiring more amenities, the five-lane ramp at the main Sam Wahl Recreation Area may be a better option.
