Damsel Pond offers a public boat ramp providing access to the Pond River in the Peabody Wildlife Management Area near Drakesboro. This scenic access point is located downstream of newer management tracts and serves kayakers, canoeists, and anglers looking to explore the river system. The area is notable for its abundant wildlife, including bald eagles that nest nearby and hunt the waters, along with ducks and other waterfowl attracted to the sloughs and wetlands.
Parking is limited to designated areas and maintained roads only—be sure not to block gates or access roads. The Pond River experiences a white bass run around early April, making spring an excellent time for fishing. This is an active wildlife management area, so be aware that hunting occurs seasonally; firearms cannot be discharged within 100 yards of the boat ramp. Access to the Peabody Wildlife Management Area is via KY-70, KY-369, KY-176, KY-269, and US-62.
